Latin American Accreditation Body It all began with a Brazilian professional living in Haiti, who identified the complete lack of an accreditation body in that country and others across the region. In response to this urgent need, a team of specialists from various parts of Latin America joined forces, united by their commitment to quality and technical development. This led to the creation of the Latin American Accreditation Body, a private, independent, and non-profit organization, with a clear vision: to strengthen the quality infrastructure throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. During the pandemic, while many technical initiatives were suspended, this team chose to move forward with determination and purpose. Their goal was to provide a reliable, accessible alternative for countries without access to accreditation services. Today, we accredit testing laboratories, inspection bodies, reference material producers, and proficiency testing providers in various countries. Our work is grounded in transparency, technical competence, and regional cooperation. We are a private organization made up of professionals committed to fair and accessible accreditation for Latin America. We have officially initiated our internal process to apply and become signatories to the ILAC-MRA, reaffirming our commitment to meeting the highest international standards.
